NuSTAR Bringing the High Energy Universe into Focus

Old Planned Targets

Last updated: 2014/08/26

By September 17, 2014 this location will provide an R.A.-ordered list of targets that NuSTAR plans to observe. If these observations are not complete by April 1, 2015 then they will be performed during the GO Cycle-1. These targets may be proposed for in GO Cycle-1, however the proposers must justify the additional observing time as described in the AO.

NuSTAR will also continue to obtain 20 ks exposures of extragalactic sources from the Swift 70-Month BAT catalog.  Such targets are useful for efficient scheduling, and provide valuable legacy science for NuSTAR.  We anticipate observing 1 to 2 sources per week. Proposers can request observations of targets from this sample, but should note that proposed targets may be observed and released without an exclusive-use period prior to AO selections.

No additional targets will be added to this list except for unanticipated ToOs and potential calibration targets. For the most complete list of planned and observed targets as well as any ToOs that may be triggered between September 17, 2014 and April1, 2015, please refer to the NuSTAR Master Catalog at the HEASARC, which may be queried using either Browse or Xamin.
